2.1 Grooming Appointments
Grooming services are available by appointment only. All grooming services are subject to availability. Sessions start at $129, with a maximum cap of $259, excluding nail caps, flea medications, ingrown claws, skunk treatment, foreign body removal, and shuttle service. The final cost is determined at the completion of the session based on any additional needs discovered during grooming.
2.2 Boarding Services
2.2.1 Important Boarding Policies
- Day Count & Early Returns: We charge by the day, with no credits or refunds for early returns.
- Minimum Fees: A minimum stay of three days is required for non-peak dates and five days for peak dates, excluding peak weekends that fall outside of peak holiday periods.
- Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for non-peak dates and 75% for peak date reservations, charged at the time of booking. Cancellations will result in the forfeiture of the deposit paid. The complete non-refundable deposit schedule can be found here.
- Peak Date Fees: Peak date reservations incur a 10% rate increase. No-shows must pay the full amount for the entire scheduled reservation. Estimated peak dates can be found here.
2.2.2 Long-Term Boarding Discount
Cats in the City offers a 10% discount for reservations of thirty (30) days or more. To qualify:
- Payment for the first month must be made at the time of reservation.
- All payments are non-refundable.
- Payment for the second month is due at check-in.
- All other invoices are due monthly until checkout.
2.2.3 Fleas, Health & Food
All cats must be on flea treatment (e.g., Advantage or Revolution) while boarding with us. Proof of treatment (e.g., packaging, product, or receipt) must be provided. If no proof is provided, we will apply flea treatment at check-in at the owner’s expense. We maintain a flea-free environment, and any cats arriving with live fleas will be groomed and treated immediately.
Additionally, cats must be free of contagious illnesses, such as Upper Respiratory Infection or Ringworm. Clients must pack enough food for their cat’s stay, along with any necessary medications. If no food is provided, we will supply house food at a rate of $6.00 per day.
2.2.4 Nail Trims
We reserve the right to trim a cat’s nails for their health and safety, with the fee included in the final invoice.
2.2.5 Abandoned Cats
If the owner does not pick up the cat(s) at the agreed time, Cats in the City will continue to provide services at the owner’s expense. If the cat(s) is deemed abandoned, Cats in the City will attempt to contact the owner. Failure to collect the cat(s) within a reasonable time will result in the cat(s) being put up for adoption, and the owner remains liable for any unpaid charges.
2.3 Cat Sitting
Our in-home cat sitting service allows your cat to remain in their familiar environment. This service is subject to availability, and fees are provided on our website.
2.4 Pet Taxi and Pet Shipping
We provide professional transportation services for your cat, including non-airport pet taxi and pet shipping. Rates vary based on distance, time, and any additional requests.
2.5 Mobile Veterinary Services
For an additional fee, mobile veterinary services can be arranged during your cat’s stay. A non-refundable deposit is required, and veterinary costs will be billed on the day of service.
2.6 Shuttle Services
We offer shuttle services for boarding and grooming. Morning pick-ups (7 am – 9 am) and afternoon returns (4 pm – 6 pm) are available.

3.2 Deposits
For certain services, a non-refundable deposit may be required to secure your appointment or reservation. The deposit amount will depend on the type of service, and it is non-refundable.
3.3 Refunds
Refunds are not provided unless Cats in the City is unable to perform the service due to our own fault or inability.
4. No-Show Policy
A “no-show” occurs when a client fails to attend a scheduled appointment or boarding reservation without prior notification. No-shows are subject to the following conditions:
- For grooming services, a no-show fee of $129 will be charged to the credit card on file if you fail to appear for your appointment without providing 24 hours’ notice.
- For boarding reservations, clients who do not check in as scheduled without prior notification will be charged the full amount for the entire reserved stay, including any peak fees, regardless of whether the service was utilized.
No-show fees help us cover the time and resources reserved for your pet.
5. Client Responsibilities
5.1 Accurate Information
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when booking an appointment or using our services. This includes disclosing any health or behavioral issues with your cat. If your cat has a heart murmur, you must provide us with the grade diagnosed by your veterinarian, and we will follow up with your vet to obtain records.
5.2 Cat Health and Safety
Your cat must be in good health and up-to-date on vaccinations prior to boarding or grooming. Cats in the City reserves the right to refuse service if we believe your cat’s health or behavior poses a risk to our staff or other clients.
5.3 Food Restriction / Anorexia While Boarding
If any food restriction or anorexia issues arise while your cat is boarding with us, you authorize us to use our best judgment in handling these issues. Additional care fees may apply and will be payable upon checkout.

You agree to release Cats in the City from any liability for damages, injuries, or loss resulting from these services.

By using our services, you authorize Cats in the City to care for your cat(s) in your absence. Cats in the City has permission to transport your cat(s) to and from a veterinary clinic, request on-site treatment, and/or coordinate treatment via telephone, fax, and email for any treatment deemed necessary. You accept full responsibility for all fees and charges and agree to pay these immediately upon invoicing. You authorize the transfer of medical records to other animal medical centers as needed for coordination of care. If your cat passes away in your absence, you direct Cats in the City to contact a veterinarian to safekeep your cat until your return.
7. Caring for Cats with Diabetes
Diabetic cats require careful monitoring of blood glucose levels, especially during boarding due to increased activity and changes in appetite. We do not inject insulin if glucose levels are below 250 mg/dl. Our care includes insulin injections, glucose readings, and necessary interventions, with additional fees for medical needs. Night monitoring and emergency medical care may incur additional costs. Our diabetic care plan is $100 daily in addition to any room rate fees.
