Zuzu
The cat beyond the checklist
Meet Zuzu as the care team does
Emergency rescue, recovery, and a permanent home
Zuzu came into Cats in the City Rescue’s care after a severe, untreated injury to his left hind leg was discovered. The rescue brought him to DoveLewis Emergency Veterinary Hospital, where the injury was assessed and amputation became the necessary treatment.
Zuzu adjusted remarkably well to life as a tripod. Within days of surgery, he was moving through his new surroundings and learning how to navigate on three legs.
A carefully selected family
After his recovery began, Cats in the City selected a family prepared to support his needs. A trial stay became Zuzu’s permanent home. The rescue’s published history reports that he remains happy and thriving and still returns for visits.
Zuzu’s profile at adoption
Zuzu is a silver Persian who was adopted at 2 years and 3 months. His story is preserved here as part of the Cats in the City Rescue placement archive.
Preparing for Placement
Could your life be the life that fits Zuzu?
The goal is not simply to place Zuzu. The goal is a durable relationship in which the care structure and the cat’s specialness can both be fully seen.
