Mildred
The cat beyond the checklist
Meet Mildred as the care team does
From uncertainty to trust
Mildred, also known as Milly, came into care after several home changes in a short period. She was initially nervous about her environment and neighboring cats. With patience, familiarity, and a predictable routine, she has grown into a more confident companion who enjoys staying close to people she trusts.
Mildred loves catnip, sunny windows, rolling comfortably on the floor, and affectionate lap time once a relationship feels safe. She can be vocal about her opinions, but she does not try to swat or bite. Her trust develops through quiet presence and consistent, gentle handling.
The right home for Mildred
Mildred is best suited to a peaceful indoor home without other pets. She needs an adopter who understands that she may hide while adapting and that a meaningful bond will grow gradually. Adults or a calm household with older children are likely to provide the stability she needs.
Health and transition planning
Mildred is spayed, current on vaccinations, and reliable with her litter pan. She currently takes Fluoxetine and should remain on it during her move. Any future medication change should happen only after she has settled and with veterinary guidance.
Preparing for Placement
Could your life be the life that fits Mildred?
The goal is not simply to place Mildred. The goal is a durable relationship in which the care structure and the cat’s specialness can both be fully seen.
