Chowder

The cat beyond the checklist

Meet Chowder as the care team does

A sweetheart who thrives on connection

Chowder is an affectionate, emotionally sensitive cat who thrives on attention, affection, and a peaceful environment. He comes from a loving home where he was cherished and well cared for. As we have gotten to know him and bond with him, we have become completely smitten with his loving personality, great big eyes, and gentle disposition. He can steal your heart with one look.

Understanding the whole cat

Chowder has a history of gastrointestinal upset and a tendency to eat non-food materials such as string, plastic, and paper. We are working with him and his veterinary team to understand the relationship among his emotions, behavior, nutrition, and underlying medical needs.

He can become overstimulated, so we are also learning which interactions, routines, and environmental supports help him stay comfortable. At present, Chowder has a healthy appetite, normal digestion, and healthy litter-box habits.

The home we are working toward

Chowder is a 3½-year-old, neutered, indoor-only creamsicle domestic medium hair who is current on vaccines. His future home should be peaceful, affectionate, carefully cat-proofed, and ready to continue any veterinary and behavioral guidance developed by his care team.

Preparing for Placement

Could your life be the life that fits Chowder?

The goal is not simply to place Chowder. The goal is a durable relationship in which the care structure and the cat’s specialness can both be fully seen.
