Grooming a cat alone can be immensely challenging. A solo groomer must simultaneously manage the cat’s body, gain access to difficult areas like the hind legs, armpits, and tail, and perform the grooming itself—all while ensuring the cat remains as comfortable and secure as possible. In effect, one person must fulfill the roles of two or three team members. It’s an intense demand on both the groomer and the cat.
At TANDEM Cat® Grooming, we approach grooming differently. Our method is built around maintaining a cat’s natural posture and physical comfort throughout every stage of care. This means avoiding any twisting, straining, or unnatural positioning—an especially critical priority for cats living with conditions like hip dysplasia, arthritis, or obesity.
When a cat experiences pain or physical stress during grooming, their natural instinct is to resist—and rightly so. Discomfort shortens a cat’s tolerance and makes it nearly impossible to complete a thorough, respectful groom.
That’s why TANDEM Cat® Grooming uses a two-person, synchronized approach designed to preserve comfort, extend tolerance, and safeguard both the cat’s physical and emotional well-being. With two trained caregivers working together in fluency, we can support the cat’s body naturally while completing a full groom without unnecessary strain or resistance.
Cats are naturally more willing to cooperate when approached with gentleness, teamwork, and clinical-level skill—the foundation of every session at TANDEM Cat® Grooming.
Grooming Session
We require a bath and nail trim with most grooms. Grooming related needs may be discovered during the session that were previously unknown or not discussed. We address such needs during the grooming session and actual services performed are charged at checkout. Grooming sessions start at $129 and most grooms are capped at $259.
Claw Trims
For the safety of kitty and our team, we perform claw trims on most cats. We trim claws to just before the vein in the nail bed, which is harmless to cats. Claws regrow and sharpen within 2-6 weeks.
We measure our love of cats by how much we are loved by them.
